MEDICINE HAT, AB — A member of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s golf team has been named an All-Canadian for the second time.

During the CCAA Award’s Ceremony on Monday, Becky Martin was among two players in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference to receive the honour. She is the only athlete from Medicine Hat College, male or female, to be named All-Canadian.

Martin previously received the honour in 2016.

On the CCAA’s website, they note Martin won individual gold at the ACAC Championship this season, and was also instrumental in the Rattlers’ victory at the conference championship.

“She is a true competitor who plays with honour and integrity,” the website states.

Martin is currently tied for second place with Elizabeth Labbe of the Champlain St. Lawrence Lions after the first round. Both shot a five-over-par 77.

Emily Romancew with the John Abbott Islanders is the current leader on the women’s side with a two-over-par 75.
