MEDICINE HAT, AB — A Medicine Hat Tigers forward has asked for a trade just 11 games into the season.

Tigers head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston confirmed the news on Monday during a media availability, noting Gary Haden informed the team of his decision on Thursday.

Haden was listed as a scratch during Friday’s game against the Prince George Cougars and was not listed during Saturday’s game against the Kootenay Ice.

Haden arrived in Medicine Hat in 2016 after the Tigers traded Cole Sanford to the Regina Pats. He played 115 total games with the tigers, recording 25 goals and 28 assists for a total of 53 points.

So far this season, Haden has only three points (one goal, two assists) in nine games.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Canalta Centre. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
