MEDICINE HAT, AB — Alberta Health Services will begin it’s annual immunization program for influenza today.

The flu shot is free of charge to all Albertans over six months of age, and there will be hundreds of drop in clinics around the province.

The first clinics in Medicine Hat are tomorrow and Wednesday, at Higdon Hall on the Stampede Grounds.

They run from 1 until 6 pm each day.

Flu shots are also available at many pharmacies and doctors offices.

More than three thousand Albertans had to be hospitalized because of the flu last season, with 92 deaths reported.
