MEDICINE HAT, AB — The city’s Heritage Resources Committee is hosting an open house next week regarding the potential designation of a new historic site.

The open house, which will be held in the Studio Theatre at the Esplanade, will allow residents to meet with the committee and provide input on Saratoga Park.

The park, located off South Railway Street, has long been associated with the Metis community, and was also an Indigenous Camp area, according to a news release from the city.

The committee is evaluating the park, noting they may potentially recommend to council that it be designated a Municipal Historic Area.
