Woman pronounced dead in two-vehicle crash near Maple Creek

MAPLE CREEK, SK – A 50-year-old woman is dead and another man is fighting for his life after a serious crash just north of Maple Creek on Sunday evening.

According to Maple Creek RCMP, they responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 21 around two kilometres north of the town at approximately 8:00 pm.

The woman from Maple Creek was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver, a 55-year-old man, was taken by STARS Air Ambulance to hospital in Regina with life-threatening injuries.

Police say there were no other passengers in either of the vehicles at the time of the crash.

Highway 21 was closed for around eight hours while police completed their investigation, but as of Monday morning traffic is flowing again through the area.
