City to repair boardwalks on coulee trails

MEDICINE HAT, AB — City crews will begin replacing a pair of boardwalks on a coulee trail this week.

Starting the week of September 24th, and lasting approximately two months, crews will be replacing two boardwalks on the Ross Glen Coulee Trail. According to the city, the boardwalks are over 30 years old, and a recent professional bridge assessment found them to be beyond their serviceable life.

The new boardwalks will meet modern safety code standards, accommodate specific trail maintenance work, and provide a safe crossing for trail users, according to a city news release.

A map of the area can be found here.

Access on the trail route to each boardwalk will be closed during construction. Residents are reminded to obey all signage in the area and remain a safe distance from construction activities.
