MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede was awarded with a $63,555 grant from the Alberta government.

MLA Bob Wanner presented the cheque to Stampede president Brian Schneider.

The grant is a part of the Community Initiative Program, for Culture and Tourism in the province.

The money will go towards information technology improvements, including upgraded phones, servers, and wireless connectivity.

Wanner says the money will help with day to day activities and help make everything run a little smoother.

“In this operation here which is several work locations within the site. This kind of technology really helps them to be not only more effective but a lot more efficient in terms of how they communicate with staff,” said Wanner.

Guests and exhibitors that attend trade shows on the grounds will also see an upgrade in connectivity.
