Starting quarterback Travis Lulay practising with Lions’ No. 1 offence
VANCOUVER — Quarterback Travis Lulay practised Monday with the B.C. Lions’ starting offence.
Lulay, 34, left the Lions’ 26-14 home win over Ottawa on Friday in the second quarter after taking a vicious hit from Redblacks defensive lineman J.R. Tavai. Tavai hit Lulay’s chin with the crown of his helmet following a pass attempt.
There was no penalty on the play but a CFL official admitted Monday that Tavai should’ve been called for spearing. The league continues to review the hit for possible supplemental discipline.
Jonathon Jennings came off the bench to complete 10 of 12 passes for 68 yards and a TD for B.C.
