Local torchbearers named for 2019 Canada Winter Games

MEDICINE HAT, AB —Four people will serve as torchbearers for the 2019 Canada Winter Games Torch Relay when it stops in Medicine Hat next year.

The organizing committee for the event announced the torchbearers for the annual relay on Tuesday.

The relay begins in Ottawa on October 4th, and the torch is scheduled to arrive in Medicine Hat on January 12th. Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner MP Glen Motz, Medicine Hat MLA Bob Wanner, Mayor Ted Clugston are all listed as torchbearers, along with athlete Preslee Muller.

According to a bio of participants, Muller is involved with speed skating, badminton, cycling and volleyball, and has been to the Canada West Short Track Speed Skating Championship three times.
