Rattlers golfer Zukowski preparing for strong sophomore season

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Just over 50 days remain until the best men’s and ladies golfers in the CCAA tear into Desert Blume Golf Course.

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers are hosting the nationally-sanctioned event, which in turn means every member wearing black and gold is automatically given a spot in the field.

Rattlers second-year Sierra Zukowski says that doesn’t change how the team prepares for the 2018 competitive season.

The 19-year-old says they want to earn their place at the National Championship the same way every ACAC team does — finishing as one of the top two teams at provincials. More slots are handed out to individual golfers, but Zukowski notes the Rattlers are heading into the campaign as a team, and intend to leave out as one as well.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports spoke with the sophomore golfer to hear how spending her summer working and playing at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club is helping her prep for competition and whether her role on the Rattlers changes in her second year.
