MONTREAL — At least three people were rushed to hospital following a crash involving three trucks on a Montreal highway Thursday morning.

The crash occurred on Highway 40 in suburban Dorval at about 3:30 a.m.

Police say a tractor-trailer crashed into the back of a parked truck that was being used to protect worker in a construction zone.

A third truck was rammed from behind and a Transport Quebec signalman was taken to hospital in critical condition.

One of the trucks caught fire and firefighters closed a service road to the highway in order to access fire hydrants to extinguish the flames.

Highway 40 was closed for several hours before reopening to traffic.
