Tigers Training Camp starts Friday

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers are getting ready for the upcoming Western Hockey League season.

With ice now in place at the Canalta Centre, the team will be welcoming players and prospects to its annual training camp, which begins Friday.

The training camp sees players split into three teams and take part in practice sessions and scrimmages. The camp concludes Sunday with the annual intra-squad game at 10 a.m.

The camp gets underway with a goalie session on Friday at 8 a.m. A full schedule for on-ice sessions was provided by the Medicine Hat Tigers and can be found below.

Fans are able to attend all on-ice sessions at the Canalta Centre, free of charge. Attendees are asked to use the main entrance at the Canalta Centre.

The Tigers will begin their pre-season the week following training camp with an exhibition game in Lethbridge on August 31st at the Enmax Centre. The two teams will play again on Sept. 1 in Taber at the town’s Community Centre.

Friday, August 24th

8:00 – 8:45 a.m.: Goalie Session

9:00 – 10:00 a.m.: Practice – Team Black

11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.: Scrimmage – Team White vs. Team Orange

5:00 – 6:00 p.m.: Practice -Team White

7:00 – 9:15 p.m.: Scrimmage – Team Black vs. Team Orange

Saturday, August 25th

9:00 – 10:00 a.m.:  Practice Team Orange

11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.:  Scrimmage – Team Black vs. Team White

6:00 – 6:45 p.m.: Scrimmage – Team Black vs. Team White

7:00 – 7:45 p.m.: Scrimmage – Team White vs. Team Orange

8:00 – 8:45 p.m.: Scrimmage – Team Black vs. Team Orange

Sunday, August 26th

10:00 am – 12:15 p.m.: Intra-Squad Game
