Day turns to night in smoky Prince George B.C.

PRINCE GEORGE – The sun was supposed to rise at 5:53 this morning in Prince George but no one knows for sure if it did.  Heavy smoke from nearby forest fires virtually blacked out the city Friday morning.  The sun may also be behind some clouds, however no one knows for sure.

Many have compared it to what the world may look like at the time of an apocalypse.  Social media has lit up with the state of the sky.  Some have used the hashtag #ZombieApocalypse while other are calling it a smoke eclipse.

The temperature at 9:00am was the same as it was at 2:00am, only 9 C.
