Distracted drivers easy pickings for police

MEDICINE HAT, AB. — Despite data that shows distracted drivers are 3 times more likely to be involved in a collision, not to mention the 287 dollar fine and 3 demerits, it’s still easy for police to catch offenders.
 
A special covert operation by city police Thursday caught 9 people using their devices, in just a 2 hour period up to 11:30 in the morning.

Each offender can expect to receive a ticket in the mail in the coming days.
