Round one completed at Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The first day of play at the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship has wrapped up at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club, and several players are already off to a good start.

At the end of round 1, four players are currently tied for first place.

Brady McKinlay, Daniel George, Bennett Ruby and William Duquette all finished with a three-under-par 68.

The two Medicine Hat golfers playing in the tournament both have a lot of ground to make up in the next round.

Caleb Kinch is currently tied for 45th place with 20 golfers. He shot a three-over-par 74 in the first round.

Ryan Hodgins had a tough opening round, shooting a seven-over-par 78. His score has left him tied for 107th.

The playing field will be cut to the top 70 and ties at the end of the second round, which got underway Tuesday morning.

The tournament wraps up on Thursday.
