Some of the sport’s biggest stars were reserved for championship Sunday including a handful of locals as well.
Brooks’ Devin Wigemyr and Roland McFadden from vulcan finished tied for tenth in team roping with a time of 11.3 seconds.
In bull riding, Maple Creek’s Jared parsonage was a late scratch on Saturday leaving Wacey Finkbeiner as the lone local in the field.
The Ponoka native turned Medicine Hat hatter scored a 79 to finish in 7th and earning a $512 pay day.
Cal Anderson and Corey Kidd from North Carolina had the top time in team roping on Saturday at 5.8 seconds.
They were the only competitors to knock off any of the leaders after day two on Friday.
Regina’s Ty Taypotat won his second straight Medicine Hat title in bareback with a score of 87.5.
The saddle bronc title went to Zeke Thurston, who posted an 87 on Friday.
Kody Dollery from Texas was tops in steer wrestling with a time of 4.2 seconds, while Blair Burke time of 8.2 seconds was good enough to win tie-down roping in Thursday’s slack.
J-B Moen held on to win bullriding with a score of 84.5, while ladies barrel racing was won by 14-year-old Taylor Manning by two-thousandths of a second. Her final time was 17.467 seconds.
