Pair from Lethbridge charged following alleged home invasion in Taber

TABER, AB — Two people from Lethbridge are facing several charges following an alleged home invasion in Taber earlier this week.

Officers were called to a home in the 5800 block of 52nd Street in Taber at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday. They discovered an 87-year-old man who was severely beaten and robbed of money. The man was taken to Taber Hospital, and was later transported to Lethbridge hospital for evaluation. A news release says the man remains in hospital, but will likely be released soon.

Police identified two suspects allegedly involved with the attack, and arrested a 28-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both from Lethbridge late Wednesday afternoon.

Both suspects have been charger with break and enter to commit robbery, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
