CFB Suffield responds to fire on base on Tuesday

SUFFIELD, AB — CFB Suffield confirms they responded to a fire on the base Tuesday afternoon.
In an email from Natalie Finnemore, the public affairs officer for the base, crews responded to a fire on the base at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The fire was contained to the base, and was fully extinguished by 10:45 p.m.
No structures were damaged as a result of the fire. Members of the base’s fire services team, along with the range control field operations section and other fire services helped fight the fire.
The base says lightning is the suspected cause of the fire.
