MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for local bowler Shawn MacKinnon after returning from Master Nationals in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

MacKinnon brought a Canadian championship back to Medicine Hat, winning gold in the teaching men’s singles division.

It’s his second career national title after winning the Canadian Junior Championships back in 1984, making it 34 years between national gold medals.

Gold wasn’t the only medal hanging around his neck last week either, as MacKinnon also picked up silver in the team event with his Alberta teammates.

CHAT Sports was able to catch up with the 49-year-old about his experiences in Ontario and what it meant to bring home two medals back to Medicine Hat.
