MEDICINE HAT, AB — Drivers in the city’s northwest should expect to be detoured as a result of work at a Canadian Pacific Railway crossing in the area.

The city posted Thursday afternoon that CP Rail will require a full road closure for emergency repairs of the rail crossing at 23rd Street and Box Springs Road Northwest. The closure will be in effect until the end of the day.

Vehicle traffic on 23rd Street will be detoured to Brier Park Road and 10th Avenue Northwest while the closure is in effect.

As of 1:15 p.m., vehicles were still able to cross at the intersection. CHAT News has reached out to CP Rail and the city to find out more information about the closure.
