CALGARY, AB — The Medicine Hat Thunder came up short at the Alberta Softball U10 Provincials over the Canada Day weekend.

The team, appearing at the tournament for the first time, finished with two wins and two losses, missing out at a chance at appearing in the semifinals.

On June 30, the Thunder lost their first game to the Calgary Nose Creek Narwhals by a score of 16-10, but came back and won their second game in dominant fashion, downing the Red Deer Rage 193.

On Sunday, the St. Albert Angels topped the Thunder 17-11. The Thunder closed their tournament appearance on a high note, winning a hard-fought battle against the Edmonton High Park Panthers 20-17.

Kennedy Sissons, Jayden Dennison, Ryleigh Jackiw and Molleigh Coombs were named the players of the game through the tournament.

According to team manager Alisha Dennison, the team is looking forward to next season. Some players will be moving up to the U12 division, while others will be back with the Thunder for one more year.
