OKOTOKS, AB – Hostilities between the Medicine Hat Mavericks and Okotoks Dawgs will have to be renewed at a later date after a rain out at Seaman Stadium on Saturday.

Umpires called the meeting of the top teams in the Western Division in the fourth inning, with the Mavericks leading 1-0 at the time.

Medicine Hat’s lone run came in the second inning, as Michael Conn drove in Colton Wright just as the rain started to fall.

With the sun setting and no end in sight to the rain, the umpires decided to postpone the contest to a later date.

As for Mavericks starter Matt Brooks, he pitched all four innings for Medicine Hat before the game was called.

There is no word yet on when the Mavericks and Dawgs will make up Saturday’s game, while Medicine Hat hosts the Fort McMurray Giants on Sunday for their Father’s Day Game at 2:05 pm.
