MEDICINE HAT, AB — David Vilches put up an all-star performance for the Medicine Hat Mavericks Wednesday night.

The Sheridan, AR native connected for two hits, including a bases-loaded triple with two out in the seventh, catapulting the Red and White to a paramount 11-6 victory over the Okotoks Dawgs.

Medicine Hat is now one game clear of the Dawgs for first place in the WMBL’s Western Division. The finale of a two-game series between the two heavyweights begins at 7:05 p.m. from Athletic Park.

Following the game, Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports caught up with Vilches, who says he was positive the moment he connected on the triple it would clear the wall.

Plus, Mavericks assistant coach Kyle Swannack commends the catchers five RBI performance, and discusses how the Mavericks plan on counter-acting a Dawgs team with intentions to leave the Gas City victorious.
