Lather Up named early 2-1 favourite for $1-million Pepsi North America Cup
CAMPBELLVILLE, Ont. — Doug McNair is hoping the third time is the charm at the $1-million Pepsi North America Cup.
The native of Guelph, Ont., will drive Stay Hungry in Canada’s richest harness race Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The country’s top driver last year will chase a first-ever win in his third North America Cup appearance.
“It would be the biggest thrill ever,” McNair said Tuesday following the race draw at Mohawk. “This would be the biggest race I’d ever want to win.”
Defenceman Connor Carrick of the Toronto Maple Leafs served as guest drawmaster.
