BROOKS, AB — The Medicine Hat Mavericks offence continued to click away from home Thursday night.

An 8-spot in the sixth inning, with the help of a three RBI performance by Colton Wright, helped the Red and White to a dominating 13-5 victory over the Brooks Bombers on Thursday night.

Medicine Hat is now 3-2 on the year having won three straight. This was their first win away from Athletic Park this season, improving above .500 for the first time. Outhitting Brooks 15-6, it’s the second straight game the Mavs have reached double digits in that department.

Wright, returning to the Mavericks dugout for the second consecutive season, came into the game late, going 3/4 at the plate along with a trio of runs. All three of his RBI came in the sixth, leaving the park for the Mavericks first homer of the 2018 campaign.

Medicine Hat product Nolan Rattai also served as a replacement and collected three hits and two runs, and Jaxson Hooge connected on three attempts with one RBI.

Evan Sutta’s performance in his Mavericks debut was outstanding, lasting six innings and allowing just two hits without an earned run. Junior Pimentel replaced Sutta in the seventh, striking out five Bombers over two innings pitched.

The majority of Brooks’ offence came off Zach Lehman’s bat. The Arizona native went 3/5 at home, collecting two of the Bombers three RBI.

Medicine Hat is in the midst of six games in six nights, and return to action Friday night at Athletic Park. They host the undefeated Moose Jaw Miller Express in their annual Bark at the Park game, with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
