Meek Mill’s lawyers ask court to remove judge from his case
PHILADELPHIA — Meek Mill’s lawyers have asked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to remove a judge from his case, blasting her conduct as unprofessional.
The rapper’s lawyers have been levelling harsh criticism at Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley for months. Their latest filing asks Pennsylvania’s high court to replace her with another judge.
Brinkley sentenced Mill in November to 2 to 4 years in prison for violating probation. Mill spent five months in jail before the Supreme Court ordered the judge to release him on unsecured bail.
Mill’s lawyers say Brinkley has treated Mill differently than other defendants.
