MEDICINE HAT, AB — The City of Medicine Hat is starting roof replacements at several parks buildings this summer.

Workers are working this week to repair the picnic shelter and washroom roofs at Strathcona Island Park.

Next week, the work will move to the office building at Gas City Campground. The work there is scheduled to last from June 4-29.

Workers will then move to the east side washrooms and boat hut at Echo Dale Regional Park from July 3 to the end of the month. Crews will return to Strathcona Island Park in August for work on the Heritage Pavilion Building. The work on the pavilion building will last between two and three weeks, though exact dates have not yet been set.

Finally, repairs will be made to the swim centre roof in Echo Dale after the Labour Day long weekend.

Residents are reminded to obey all signage and remain a safe distance from construction. The city says they expect minimal disruption, but some facilities may be temporarily closed during construction times.

The schedule is weather-dependent and based on the scope and size of each project.
