Over-dimensional load escort to impact highway traffic

MEDICINE HAT — Traffic on the Trans-Canada highway through Medicine Hat will be affected this afternoon.

Police will be conducting an over-dimensional load escort starting at 1:30/

The escort will be travelling on Highway 1 from the West town limits of Redcliff, to the East city limits of Medicine Hat.

Police say due to the size of the load, the escort will be required to counter-flow the Trans-Canada Hwy and this will affect traffic along Highway 1 in both the east and westbound lanes. Parts of Redcliff Dr SW and Gershaw Dr SW will also be affected.

The escort is expected to take approximately one hour to complete and police are asking drivers to plan their commutes accordingly.
