RedHat Co-op GM talks recovery following Saturday fire

REDCLIFF, AB – It’s a morning that RedHat Co-op general manager Gillian Digman won’t soon forget, receiving a phone call that her business was on fire.

A sizable fire broke out at the vegetable packing plant at around 8:30 am on Saturday morning, needing firefighters from Redcliff, Medicine Hat, and Cypress County to knock down the blaze.

One person was taken to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with minor injuries and has since been released following treatment.

There is no word yet on a cause of the fire or damage caused, with an investigator from Edmonton helping to comb the scene.
