Colts and Mohawks victorious on the road Tuesday

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Monsignor McCoy High School Colts and the Medicine Hat High School Mohawks baseball teams both came home with wins following road games Tuesday night.

The Colts downed the Brooks Buffalos 17-7, while the Mohawks defeated the Vauxhall Vikings 9-1.

The Colts were up 6-5 heading into the final inning, when they added 11 runs to stop a comeback.

Ethan Boutkan, Reese Whelen, Ty Brooks, Kayden Berndt and Jayden Schwindt all had 2 RBI for the Colts through the game. Whelen and Peyton Cox each scored three runs through the game.

Dax Wandler and Carson Becker each had two runs for the Buffalos during the game.

On the mound, Joel Herron earned the win for the Colts. Over three innings, he allowed four runs, three hits and struck out one batter. Brooks pitched three innings, allowing three runs, three hits and striking out one batter.

Brett Gray was the losing pitcher for the Buffalos, allowing two runs and one hit in one inning.

In Vauxhall, the Mohawks scored five runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach.

Travis Small led the Mohawks with 3 RBI, while Ethan Wagner recorded 2 RBI. Zach Stark scored three runs during the game.

Aidan Rissling was credited with the win on Tuesday. He pitched one and two third innings, allowing one run and three hits, while striking out three batters.

Kole Fujita had the lone run for the Vikings during the game. Brady Howg took the loss on the mound, allowing five hits and six runs in two-and-two-third innings.
