MEDICINE HAT, AB – A busy morning for Medicine Hat firefighters on Sunday, as they responded to a small fire at a home in the River Flats neighbourhood.

Crews were called out at 7:40 am to the 900 block of 4th Street SE after reports of a structural fire, but later determined it was a fire originating from a dryer inside the home.

All three stations were called out to fight the fire, however Fire Station #1 took control shortly after arriving once the extent of the blaze was made clear.

The fire was knocked down shortly after crews arrived and there is no reports of any injuries involved.

Fire investigators remain on scene as of Sunday morning, however there is no word yet on a possible cause or amount of damage to the home.
