LANCASTER, Ohio — Museumgoers in Ohio are getting a rare opportunity to view more than 40 costumes linked to some of Paramount Pictures’ most memorable characters, including “Forrest Gump’s” Jenny and “Star Trek’s” Khan.

“Creating the Illusion: Costumes & Characters from the Paramount Pictures Archive” opens at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio in Lancaster on Saturday and runs through Aug. 12.

The exhibit features costumes, props, posters and concept art from 21 Paramount films since 1987, including several that had been nominated for an Oscar for costume design.

Curator Randall Thropp is a former Lancaster resident who manages the studio’s costume and prop archive. He says the show satisfies a “new nostalgia” for movies of the 1980s, 90s and early 2000s, including “Beverly Hills Cop 2,” ”The Addams Family,” ”Dreamgirls” and “Zoolander.”
