Car fire on Maple Avenue Bridge

MEDICINE HAT — Police and firefighters had to shut down a lane of the Maple Avenue bridge after a car caught on fire.

The vehicle was travelling South across the bridge towards the Flats neighbourhood.

Police say the vehicle experienced mechanical issues and likely overheated, resulting in the fire.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Traffic has been affected as the southbound portion of the bridge is reduced to one lane, police are directing traffic.
