Hamilton acquires top pick in CFL draft in trade with Alouettes
HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have acquired the top draft selection in Thursday’s CFL draft in a trade with Montreal involving two players and multiple picks.
In addition to the top pick, Hamilton receives Montreal’s fourth- and sixth-round picks in 2018, as well as the Alouettes’ natural second-round selection in 2019.
The Alouettes receive Canadian offensive lineman Ryan Bomben, international wide receiver Jamal Robinson, the second-overall pick on Thursday, Hamilton’s fourth- and seventh-round selections and a player from Hamilton’s negotiation list.
Players on Hamilton’s negotiation list include quarterback Johnny Manziel but the Tiger-Cats confirmed that the player in the deal was not Manziel.
