MEDICINE HAT, AB — Mason Shaw is officially a NHL hockey player.

The Minnesota Wild announced Friday afternoon the Medicine Hat Tigers forward has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the club.

Shaw, 19, missed the entire WHL season after suffering a torn ACL at the Traverse City Prospect Tournament hosted by the Wild in September.

The Lloydminster product has collected 163 points (47 goals and 116 assists) in 161 with the Medicine Hat Tigers, including 94 points in the 2016-17 season.

Earlier this month, Shaw signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League. He appeared in one game on April 10, a 2-1 win over Rockford.
