Beisel verdict adjourned to May

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A judge’s decision regarding a Cypress County man facing multiple impaired driving charges has been adjourned until May.

Curtis Beisel, 56, was originally set to learn the verdict on Friday, but the case has been adjourned to May 17, according to Court Check.

The Cypress County resident is facing 12 charges following a Dec. 17, 2015 collision on the Trans-Canada Highway outside of Dunmore.

It’s alleged a Chrysler sedan driven by Beisel was travelling the wrong way down the highway and collided with a minivan heading west.

Three people in the van, including an infant that was one week old at the time, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger in Beisel’s car was also injured.

Beisel was charged with four counts of of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, four counts of exceeding .08 causing bodily harm and four counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm in January 2016.
