Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Guess Who to close out Stampede nightshow
MEDICINE HAT, AB — It’s going to get loud at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede this summer.
The Stampede announced that Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, along with The Guess Who, will be closing out the night shows on July 28.
The bands are replacing Huey Lewis and the News, who were forced to cancel all of their tour dates in 2018 after Lewis announced he had lost his hearing.
Jett, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015, founded the Runaways in 1975, who are best known for the song “Cherry Bomb.” She started performing with The Blackhearts starting in 1979, and notched numerous hits, including “Bad Reputation,” “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” “I Love Rock ‘n Roll,” and “Crimson and Clover.”
