MEDICINE HAT, AB — Three local football players will be representing the South Zone on the gridiron next month.

Offensive linemen Cody Lyons and Aiden Beattie, along with defensive back Jaren Halladay, all qualified for the South All Star team during the Senior Bowl South Selection Camp over the weekend. The three players selected were members of the Hat High Mohawks last season.

According to the Mohawks’ official website, Halladay recorded 44 tackles and one sack during the 2017 season, where he played both slotback and linebacker.

Lyons, who played on both the offensive and defensive lines in the 2017 season, recorded 21 tackles and three sacks (two solo, one assisted). Beattie also played on both sides of the ball, making two tackles and one sack.

In addition to the three players, Mohawks coach Brian Semenok has been named the quarterback coach for the South team.

The Senior Bowl game takes place on May 21 in Edmonton.
