MEDICINE HAT, AB. – Southeastern Albertans are coming together tonight for a benefit concert and auction to support the community of Humboldt and the Humboldt Broncos hockey team following the devastating bus crash last weekend.

Ralph’s Texas Bar & Steakhouse is open until 2:00 am tonight for anyone wanting to come out and show their support. Attendees are encouraged to wear green and gold, with a minimum $5.00 donation being collected at the door.

Organizer Craig Andrus of Sell Truth Entertainment said the event came together in 5 days and he is very happy with the response from the Medicine Hat.

“I just want to say thank-you to Medicine Hat, thank-you to Alberta and thank-you to Canada,” he said. “We mourn with you Saskatchewan.”

Andrdrus said the goal of the night was to keep the room lively and create a fun event to bring everyone together.

“Although not a lot of people in this room knew those players we want to celebrate their lives,“ he said.

The benefit concert started earlier in the afternoon at 3:00 pm with live acoustic performances from Taylor Sonier, Brett Michael Monka, Megan Dawson and Terez.

From 7:00 pm onward, the main stage has a number of artists performing including Michela Sheedy, Renegade Station, Drew Gregory, Craig Moritz and Julian Austin.

Children over the age of ten are welcome until 10:00pm.

More to come.
