MEDICINE HAT, AB — Let’s go back to April 3rd, 1968.

Gasoline was a mere 12 cents per litre, and R-rated movies didn’t even exist.

The number one song in the USA was ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’ by Otis Redding.

A lot has changed over the last 50 years, but one thing has remained the same.

The legendary Bob Ridley has brought local sports coverage to the forefront of Medicine Hat as an integral piece to the CHAT radio and television stations.

This week, we celebrate a half century with a co-worker, a friend, and a member of the CHAT family.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports caught up with the esteemed play-by-play legend to hear his thoughts on working 50 years at CHAT, how the industry has changed, and whether he ever imagined his career would turn into what it is today.
