MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s a do-or-die situation for the Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday, as the team gets ready to battle the Brandon Wheat Kings in an elimination Game 6.

Medicine Hat allowed five straight goals in Game 5 on Friday night, including a pair of power play markers in a 5-2 loss to trail 3-2 in their best-of-seven series.

A glimmer of hope on the injury front Friday for the ‘Tabbies’ with Linus Nassen returning to the lineup after missing three games of the series.

However, Medicine Hat is still without forwards Elijah Brown and James Hamblin, along with defencemen Dylan MacPherson and Trevor Longo.

Both MacPherson and Longo were re-evaluated by the Tigers earlier this week, with head coach Shaun Clouston expecting both blueliners to miss significant time with “long-term” injuries.

After missing Game 5 on Friday, Clouston said there is a chance Brown could return to top line duties on Sunday for a pivotal Game 6.

“I think [Brown] fit in really nicely there and hopefully he’ll be a possibility Sunday,” said Clouston. “And if not, we’ll just have to figure out a way to get it back here on Tuesday.”

CHAT Sports was able to catch up with assistant coach Joe Frazer, Clouston, Nasssen, and Ryan Chyzowski on Friday as the Tigers get ready to try to keep their season alive on Sunday.
