MEDICINE HAT, AB — Ethan Cobbe-Hoggan is calling his recent bronze medal finish at the Edmonton International Judo Championships a huge boost of confidence.

Having secured a spot on the podium, competing alongside some of the world's best judoka's in the world, the 16-year-old Medicine Hat Judo Club member is excited for what's to come.

Cobbe-Hoggan has several more events marked on his calendar, including the Rocky Mountain Tournament in Airdrie next month, which serves as a qualifier for the Canada Summer Games. The most prestigious event rolls around in May, when the best judo fighters from across the country conviene in Calgary for the Canadian Open Championships.

CHAT Sports caught up with Cobbe-Hoggan to discuss his bronze medal finish in Edmonton and where his mental game is at moving into the spring session. Plus, MHJC coach Donovan Hoggan shares his thoughts on his son's performance, along with another local member who's slamming the mat alongside the next wave of Olympic talent.
