Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – March 15

Mad Hatter
I hate that minimum wage keeps increasing. Do people not realize that by increasing minimum wage, the price of living will also increase so really the only people losing out are those of us who are just above that line as it is. Unfortunately, I used to be making about $6.00 more than minimum wage but do you think my wage also increases when the cost of EVERYTHING does? No. I’m sorry but I don’t see how flipping a burger requires $15.00 an hour. You want to get paid more, strive to get a better job. Now everyone else gets to suffer. Small businesses, family run places, the 9-5 worker.

Happy Hatter
I am happy to see another person speak up about the negative tweets of our local MLA. NDP came into power with major challenges including the Fort McMurray fire.  PC was in power for how many years?  At any time did bankruptcies, huge lost jobs, double digit mortgage rates occur during those years of power?  This MLA is definitely old enough to remember those troubling turbulent times or has he forgotten them intentionally?

Mad Hatter
I see all the violence issues in the States and it makes me sad. Look to Australia who has found a way to restrict and stop those mass shootings.  I think Canada should also be looking at Australia Restriction of Guns Laws as well.  Let’s be proactive instead of reactive.

Mad Hatter
Our PM is so sensitive and precious, and he is trying to turn Canada into a “participation trophy” nation. The world isn’t always nice. The world isn’t always fair. But with his “peoplekind” and Bill “C16” it feels like we are on a road to George Orwell’s 1984.

Mad Hatter
I live in Crescent Heights.  There have been at least 8 houses in one section that do not shovel their walks and have barely done so all winter. Constant dangerous icy sidewalks? Check. Lazy homeowners? Check. Bylaw? Non-existent.

Mad Hatter
Running lights don’t engage taillights. Drive with your low beams on so you can be seen. I can’t believe the number of cars were just shadows in the recent fog. You should drive this way all the time. Just look ahead when you are on the road and see how many cars just blend in because of strong sun, deep shadows, etc. Just because you can see ahead doesn’t mean you can be seen from behind.

Mad Hatter
I am tired of being confronted by staff  every time I go to a Tigers game! They need to work on how they treat the fans!

Happy Hatter
So thrilled the snow is FINALLY melting! This is wonderful. It’s just the beginning and already I feel more motivated and happy!

Mad Hatter
I cannot believe how rude and ignorant cashiers or even staff in stores are in this city! There are supposed to be greeters at stores and I think there is one person that actually greets you. Wow! People, if you don’t like your job, move on! A hello or thank you is nice. Remember secret shoppers!

Happy Hatter
Happy that CHAT did a story on a local Tigers hockey fan – great job CHAT NEWS keep celebrating the everyday people who make our community great!

Mad Hatter
MAD that our federal tax dollars go toward our MP mailing out “tax guide” booklets in the mail that are clearly an excuse to attack their opponent and gain political points. The disclaimer on the front states “watch out, Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have snuck in a ton of new tax hikes and taken away tax credits that helped your family” and this type of attack is throughout the book with quotes from the biased Fraser Institute. Just the actual facts would have been nice!
