Rattlers women going for ACAC futsal gold, men in semi-final action

LLOYDMINSTER, AB – The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s futsal team will have a chance at a fifth-straight provincial championship on Sunday, qualifying for the ACAC finals.

The Rattlers bested The King’s University Eagles in semi-final action on Sunday morning 3-0, led by a pair of goals from Jadyn Fode and another from Meagan Clarke.

Medicine Hat will tangle with the Lethbridge College Kodiaks for the gold medal, who the Rattlers beat 4-3 in their opening game of the provincial tournament.

The Rattlers and Kodiaks will get their gold medal match underway at 2:45 pm on Sunday.

As for the Rattlers men’s team, they will be fighting for a shot at a gold medal as well after a dominant 9-2 showing over the University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings in their final round-robin game.

Finishing the round-robin with a 2-1 record, the Rattlers have secured a berth in the semi-finals and will be playing for a medal no matter what.

Standing in the way of a gold medal match berth will be the Keyano College Huskies out of Fort McMurray, game time in the semi-final game is set for 12:15 pm.
