MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Canadian Mental Health Association received a significant donation from the Brooks Bandits on Wednesday.

Members of the Bandits were in town and presented a donation of $3,799 to the association. The money was raised from the Bandits Mental Health Awareness Game on February 3.

The money raised came from special game worn jerseys auctioned off following the game.

Although the total was slightly lower than last year’s game, Cori Fischer, executive director of the CMHA’s chapter in southeastern Alberta, says the money will help the association significantly.

“It gives us the opportunity to run support groups for an entire year, on the money they donate for us, which is really necessary for a lot of individuals in the community,” she said. “It’s very much appreciated.”

It’s the second year in a row the Bandits have hosted the Mental Health Awareness Game.
