Rattlers hitting crunch time

Feb 16, 2018 | 10:27 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Rattlers are in tough this weekend, with both the men’s and women’s teams facing elite squads in the SAIT Trojans.

The men’s team definately have a good opportunity to win, with the Trojans in a bit of a tail-spin heading into this weekend’s double-header. After starting the season 13-0, SAIT has dropped three of their last four contests, putting them in a tie for first-place with Medicine Hat.

The Rattlers have won two straight games, and could very well take first in the division with a weekend sweep. They finish off the regular season with a match-up against the 10-8 Ambrose Lions next weekend.

SAIT won their last match up with the Rattlers 82-75 on December 10.

The ladies squad is short-handed, with Kendall Kuntz out of the line up indefinitely. Medicine Hat struggled in two games without Kuntz, splitting a double header with the 4-13 Briercrest Clippers last weekend.

They’ve also dropped six of their last 12 games, after starting the season 6-0.

The Trojans have lost only two games in league play.

Both teams play in Calgary tonight, the women’s side will play at 6 pm while the men play at 8 pm. The series swings back to Medicine Hat College tomorrow night, with the same game times for both teams.
