Winter storm watch issued for central and southern Alberta

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Another blast of winter could be heading to southeastern Alberta.

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm watch for much of central and southern Alberta, including Medicine Hat and the surrounding area.

Snow is expected to move into central Alberta on Wednesday, and will move south into Calgary by Wednesday evening, and continue southward through Wednesday night towards the American border.

The heaviest snow will begin late overnight on Wednesday into Thursday,, and is expected to end by Friday. However, it is still not known where the heaviest amounts will fall.

Environment Canada says between 25 and 35 centimetres of snow could fall in the region. People in or near the areas should be prepared for potential adverse weather conditions and listen for updated watches and potential warnings.
