Stampede announces night show lineup

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two popular Alberta country bands, an outlaw country legend and one of the biggest bands of the 1980s are coming tp Medicine Hat this summer.

The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede announced their night show lineup for the 130th annual event, which runs from July 25-28, 2018.

This year, High Valley and Corb Lund will be playing July 25 at 8 p.m., while Tanya Tucker will be playing July 26 at 9 p.m., and Huey Lewis and the News will close the Stampede on July 28 at 9 p.m.

High Valley are best known for their hit song “Make You Mine,” while Lund, a native of southern Alberta, has had multiple hits since 2002 with his band The Hurtin’ Albertans.

Tucker, whose career began in 1972, has notched multiple top-10 hits from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Huey Lewis and the News have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, and are best known for hits “The Power of Love,” “Hip to be Square,” and “The Heart of Rock and Roll.”

The theme for this year’s event is “The Place to Be.”

Ticket packages for all three shows go on sale Thursday morning at 10 a.m. and are $189.
