MEDICINE HAT, AB – Home court advantage wasn’t enough for the Medicine Hat High Mohawks basketball teams, dropping both of their meetings to Cardston High School on Friday.

The Senior Varsity Mohawks were unable to keep up with the firepower of the undefeated Cougars on Friday, losing their contest by a 92-61 final.

Forward Ethan Egert posted a team-high 19 points in the loss, with Bailey Gosse (11) and Parker Davidson (10) also hitting double-digits in points.

Losing their second straight, the 2-4 Mohawks are tied for fifth place in their league standings with the Catholic Central Cougars.

A similar script in the Junior Varsity meeting between Medicine Hat and Cardston, with the Wildcats rolling to a 94-62 win over the Mohawks.

Only two Mohawks were able to hit double-digits in points, with Austin Walton and Gabriel Baldovinos each hitting 10 points, respectively.

Seeing their record slip to 1-5 on the season, the Mohawks juniors have now lost four in a row.

Returning home on Saturday, Medicine Hat plays host to Catholic Central with the juniors hitting the court at 5:00 pm and the senior game going at 7:00 pm.

A busy day of basketball at Medicine Hat High gets underway earlier in the afternoon, with the Kwahommies junior and senior teams looking for wins against Cardston.
