Kwahommies teams swept by LCI Clippers in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A tough night for the Medicine Hat High School Kwahommies girls basketball teams on Friday night, swept at the hands of the LCI Clippers.

The Kwahommies senior team lost by a 94-75 score to the Clippers, falling to a 2-3 record in league play this year.

Point guard Rhiannon Ware had a team-high 24 points in the loss, while Bretonnie Stenhouse and Taya Karsten also hit double-digits in points.

It was a 66-55 loss for the Kwahommies junior varsity team, dropping their first game of the season against LCI.

Despite the loss, Emma Wintoniak led all players with 20 points with guard Kyler Varga also having a strong showing with 13 points.

Now holding a record of 4-1 on the season, the Kwahommies are still two points ahead of the W.R. Myers Rebels out of Taber for first place.

The Kwahommies are back at Medicine Hat High School next Saturday, hosting the Cardston Cougars.

As for their boys counterparts in the Mohawks, they’re on the road to face the Magrath High School Zeniths on Saturday night.
